Physical Education and Health (10PEDU)

Course Outline
This course aims to foster attitudes and values that endorse health-enhancing practices for self and others. It is intended that students will develop positive attitudes to lifelong physical activity as well as the knowledge and skills for maintaining their own personal well-being, while also being aware of their influence on others.

Modules:
- tlc of me - this unit focuses on empowering students to analyse beliefs, attitudes and practices that influence mental health, sex and sexuality
- move to the max - students will develop skills and knowledge to choreograph and perform a creative movement sequence as a group
- the skilful player - students will develop and apply game strategies to invasion games and net/wall games
- disabilities unit - students will explore strategies for inclusiveness in order to participate with disabled athletes
- survival - students will learn CPR, gain knowledge and develop a range of skills to keep themselves and others safe in the water
- outdoor education - students will undertake some confidence-building activities prior to attending Kahunui Outdoor Education Campus. The focus of Kahunui camp is sustainability alongside personal challenge in the outdoors.


Assessment
A range of different class based activities from different strands.
