Language Studies (10LNST)

Course Outline
This course is an extension of the Language Studies programme offered in Year 9. The course structure is similar but takes account of the students’ increasing maturity and ability to take responsibility for their own learning. The pattern of 15 minutes of silent reading at the start of each lesson and the regular testing of spelling will be continued, as will the concentration on increasing skills in all basic areas of English, encouraging accurate in-depth writing, perception in comprehension and oral communication. Metacognitive thinking, study skills, goal setting and examination techniques will be reinforced.
