French (7FREN)

Course Outline
This course is for students who are new to the College in Year 7. The first book of the Touché series is completed at this level. The emphasis is on communication and by the end of the course students will be able to communicate simply with people in French such as greeting others, introducing themselves and others. They will be able to use and respond to simple classroom language, talk about their family and describe their pets. Socio-cultural aspects such as the French-speaking world, famous French people and conventions involved in greeting people are an integral part of the course. Level 1 and part of Level 2 of the New Zealand Curriculum are covered.
