Physical Education (7PEDU)

Course Outline

The Year 7 course aims to consolidate and extend personal movement capabilities beyond those taught in Year 6. Skills need to be applied in more complex situations where decision making is a key factor for success. The students will develop observation skills to improve their ability to give helpful peer feedback and this will enhance their ability to take personal responsibility for their learning.

This course is designed to continue fostering positive attitudes towards participating in physical activity and to extend the interpersonal skills needed to interact positively with others. A theme for the year is “Respect for Others”. Inclusive behaviours and negotiation skills are the specific attributes that will be fostered in units of work throughout the year.

Individual classes are generally doing different topics from other classes that are timetabled at the same time. However, all topics will be covered over the course of a year.
