Course Outline
The aim of this course is the study of the Latin language and the life and customs of the Roman people. The students will learn about the influence of Latin on English and other languages, as well as the language skills which can be found in English and all foreign languages.
The history of the Romans, their achievements, values and customs, are studied in a narrative style involving a family, with particular reference to Pompeii and Roman Britain.
The course involves translation of Latin into English and teaches the grammar necessary to achieve this.


Assessment
Two written internal examinations.
