Mathematics (9MATH)

Course Outline
A problem solving approach is used to develop knowledge and skills in all curriculum strands: number and algebra, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability. Numeracy project strategies enhance thinking and form a strong link between strands.
An emphasis on maintaining and developing skills is balanced with practical applications, investigations and problem solving. Students learn to think mathematically, to reason and to communicate mathematical ideas clearly.

Assessment
Two written internal examinations.
