A Sense of Belonging

When students move into our boarding community they are placed in a “Boarding Family”.

This consists of a vertical family group of 6 or 7 students.
The girls in these families will stay together during their time at the College, ensuring that the nucleus of the family unit, being Y10, Y11 and Y12 will remain together.
This will be in addition to the buddy system between Y7, Y8, Y9 and Y13.
Families sit together at mealtimes once a week and plan at least one activity per term for their family. The vertical family grouping ensures discussion between girls of various year levels and houses.
Belonging to “my other family” promotes a shared sense of community and acceptance. It builds boarders’ self esteem and promotes positive support, encouragement and affirmation for one another.
