Cross Country
We run two Cross country events throughout the year. Both are held on the Carlton Rugby Fields adjacent to the college.
We run a
Senior Cross Country in Term One. It is compulsory for all Year 9, 10 and 11 students to participate and is optional for Year 12 and 13.
There is a non-Championship course of 2.25 km and a championship course of 4.0 km and students choose which course they run. There are more house points awarded for participating in the longer Championship event.
Students who are successful at the college event go on to represent the college at the Central Zone Cross Country Champs and the AKSS Cross Country Championships.
The St Cuthbert's College Distance Running coach then chooses a College team to participate at the NZ Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships.
The
Junior Cross Country is held in Term Three.
Year 3 & 4 girls run a course of 1.5km and Year 5-8 students run 2.5km. Students who are successful in this event will represent the college at the Remuera Zone (Y5-6) or Central Zone (Y7-8) Cross Country Champs.
