Film Society

The aim of the Film Society is to screen quality, critically acclaimed films, both mainstream, commercial and arthouse, as they were meant to be seen – on the BIG screen.
This provides a forum for discussion on each film and on cinema as a whole.
Our group of Y12 and 13 students meets each week on a Monday evening at the Capital Cinema in terms two and three to view a film, listen to an introduction about it and then engage in plenty of hearty discussion.
We start at 5.30 and usually finish at about 7.30 depending on the film running time.
We share the society with Auckland Grammar and Epsom Girls.
Each week a student introduces the film – we watch it – at the end the students break into groups and discuss.
Films watched last year included: Moon / Where the Wild Things Are / Secrets in Their Eyes / Up in the Air.
