Current 1st Xl captain Julia King captained the NZ Tiger Turf U16 team and in 2010 was selected to represent the NZ Tiger Turf U18 team. Julia was also added to the NZ Junior Blacksticks for the series against Malaysia earlier in the year.

Old Girls are Commonwealth Games Silver Medallists

College hockey enthusiasts would have been thrilled to see their most recent hockey internationals, Lucy Talbot and Stacey Michelsen, starring prominently at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
Old Girls Lucy and Stacey received glowing accolades from the international commentary team throughout the two-week event. More importantly, both were singled out by former Olympian and SPARC CEO Peter Miskimmin as exciting prospects and the future of NZ hockey.
The College received a real fillip during the semi-final against South Africa when the commentary team described Lucy Talbot as a “prefect out of St Cuthbert's College, Auckland”.
Stacey’s sublime skills continue to astound the hockey world for a player so young. Her solo effort and reverse stick trademark goal against England was reminiscent of her days here at the College.
Both girls had mixed feelings about their well-earned silver medals. They felt the team had done enough to secure the gold medal against Australia in regulation time. However, the winning goal proved elusive and the loss in the ensuing penalty shoot-out was a disappointment.
It has been a hectic year for the two jet-setters, starting with home series against Australia, India and Argentina. They then travelled to Australia for a three-test series, on to England for Champions Trophy then to Holland for Rabo Cup, followed by the World Cup in Argentina.
After the Commonwealth Games, Lucy Talbot went to Holland to play in the semi-professional Dutch League whilst Stacey returned home with the Blacksticks to complete university studies here in Auckland.
