Productions
The productions at St Cuthbert's College each year are numerous and diverse. They are inclusive, allowing all students who want to act, sing or dance to be a part of a production.
There is the chance for all students from New Entrance to Year 13 be part of the school’s productions.
In year 1-4 the year groups combine for a show each year. The same occurs for Year 5 and 6.
At Year 7 the students perform in small groups for the One Act Plays.
In Year 8 the students perform in an original musical drama which they have self devised during their drama lessons.
As the students move into the senior school they have the option to perform in the Y9 and 10 Performance Projects. These focus on differing and varied performance skills each year.
For years 11-13 the students perform in plays as part of the NCEA curriculum.
There is also the opportunity for students not taking drama to be in the St Cuthbert’s College biennial musical.
The College productions can be entered in to the Showdown competition which aims to raise the profile of Performing Arts in schools. Showdown run an Oscar-type awards evening with 23 different categories where both staff and students of the College have enjoyed previous success.
