Sports Academy Form Class
Form Class
The purpose of the form class is to support our elite sports women in finding a balance between their academic studies and sport, so that they may achieve to the highest level in both. The class was started in 2007 and has evolved to offer the students even better support in 2008.
Format
The students will be placed in a small vertical form class for Years 9-13 students and assistance will be given in the following areas:
- Support from the class form teacher to help plan ahead and notify teachers and Deans in advance of known absences.
- Monthly meetings with the Director of Sport who will assist students with time management and prioritising tasks.
- The Director of Sport will contact outside coaches to bring together all providers (school, club and representative) to manage the students training commitments.
- Role modelling within the class will evolve as more mature students assist those who are just getting started.
- Tutorials will be arranged around winter tournament week and assistance will be given to students throughout the year on request.
“Guess Who’s Coming to Breakfast?”
These breakfasts are held throughout the year. A special guest is invited to talk to the students about topics which will help them plan and manage their training and their studies.

- Career options/ American Universities and Scholarships
- Sports Science 1= Balancing training needs across a number of sports.
- Sports Science 2= Peak Performance- training for a specific goal
- Sports Science 3= Mind over matter- Sports Psychology
- Media Training
- Public Speaking
