St Cuthberts College Co-curricular surfing club operates during terms 1 and 4 with fully qualified instructors from NZ Surf n’Snow Tours. http://www.newzealandsurftours.com/.
Students are driven to the best local surf spot, either Piha or Orewa beaches.
All gear such as wetsuits, surfboards and high visibility t-shirts are provided.
Places are limited and all abilities are catered for. Because of its popularity priority is given to students who have never surfed before.

National Regional Scholastic Championships

Hannah Kohn (Y10) had a very successful time in the holidays when, for the second year running, her surf team The Globe Auckland Scholastics came in with an outstanding 3rd overall.
Eleven teams from all over New Zealand competed for the finals held in sunny Gisborne in mostly good quality 1m waves. The Globe Auckland team showed its professionalism on and off the field the whole week and quickly became a serious contender for the title right from the get go.
The trio of U14 girls that Hannah was surfing with all made it through to the U14 final with Hannah placing 4th, an excellent result to make it that far.
