Having fun, learning to be part of a team and developing co-ordination skills are the focus of sports participation in the Junior School. Girls are encouraged to try a wide variety of sports codes as part of healthy daily activity.


From Reception – Year 2 fundamental sports skills and movement are learnt through modified games and exercises in specialist PE classes.


Having mastered the basics, our Year 3 girls can involve themselves in the Have-a-Go programme, where they experience a range of different sports. Girls discover their aptitudes and passions and can decide which sports they wish to follow in future years.


From Year 3 onwards students have the opportunity to be involved in team sports. At this age we believe sport is about girls learning to bring their best efforts to their sporting endeavours and be resilient in adversity. In doing so, our students learn good habits that transfer into other areas of their lives.


In addition to co-curricular sports, from Year 1 our girls have the opportunity to participate in an annual Athletics Day where they can try their hand at modified track and field events and earn points for their House. Swimming Sports and Cross Country are added to students’ annual sporting events from Year 3.
