Drama

St Cuthbert’s College’s Drama Department organises a host of productions, from Shakespearean plays to contemporary works. Drama is offered as both a curricular and co-curricular activity, giving all students the chance to find and develop their inner performer.

The Middle School drama programme paves the way for the Senior School where girls can take part in Year 9 and 10 Performance Projects, the St Cuthbert’s College biennial musical, Stage Challenge, the Shakespeare festivals and studying drama as an NCEA subject.

Productions

Productions at St Cuthbert’s College each year are numerous, diverse and all-inclusive to allow all students who want to act, sing or dance take part. Students take a central role in productions, directing and often helping to write plays.

In Year 7 the students perform in small groups for the One Act Plays and in Year 8 girls perform in an original musical drama which they have self devised during their drama lessons.
