“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”

Find out what give St Cuthbert’s girls the confidence to lead.

We believe in providing our students with opportunities to learn the skill of leading so we provide leadership platforms in all three of our schools – Junior, Middle and Senior – through the Learning to Lead programme.

Girls build a leadership skill set through the act of doing and in the Middle School our students can put themselves forward for many different leadership positions and teams.
In Year 8 all girls are involved in a leadership team and with 10 to choose from we have everybody’s tastes covered. In fact, if girls do spot a gap in our leadership team offerings they petition staff to create another team, which has resulted in three new additions in the past three years. With resourcefulness like this we know our students are the leaders of the future.

Leadership roles are an important part of our Middle School programmes, 7Up and activ8 , which have been created to build self-awareness, confidence and encourage greater levels of responsibility. For more information on these unique programmes please download the information on the right.

The Learning2Lead programme governs the leadership journey of all St Cuthbert’s students as they progress from the Middle School to the Senior School, providing responsibility at levels that are both challenging and appropriate to the age of the girls.
