There are two main charities that the Junior School will be supporting this year. From Reception – Year 3, the nominated charity is the Mobility Dogs, and in Year 4-6, the SPCA. These charities benefit greatly from our support throughout the year and they are both charities that the girls feel they can relate to.
Earlier this year, the Junior School held a mufti day to raise money for Fiji. This mufti day was an unscheduled event though we felt that it was important to help the people of Fiji after being hit by Cyclone Winston, which caused widespread devastation. I would like to say a big thank you to all the families who donated generously to help us raise $1,800 in the Junior School alone. We intend on doing further fundraising in Term 2 as we work with the Adopt-a-School Foundation. Further information will come out about this early next term.
We had a second mufti day this term, with the money this time going towards our nominated charities, these being Mobility Dogs and the SPCA.
Along with out nominated charities, St Cuthbert’s also has a strong connection with Presbyterian Support Northern. Throughout the year, we hold a number of events. This term we had an Easter egg collection and then a Foodbank collection. All items donated are collected by Anne Overton from PSN, who then distributes these where needed.
