At the end of last term, the Reception – Year 3 girls enjoyed a visit from John Peebles and his dog Hugo. John and Hugo are from Mobility Dogs, which are the charity supported by these girls. They enjoyed learning about the ways in which Mobility Dogs can help people who have a disability, and watching Hugo perform his tricks.
The Year 4 – 6 girls attended a visit from their nominated charity, the SPCA. Chris, Cate and her dog Selena talked to the girls about how the SPCA is run and how they help in our community. Hearing Selena’s rescue story really brought it all to life for the girls.
The Junior School girls have also been working hard this term to collect further resources to donate to schools in Fiji through the Adopt-A-School foundation. These are school that are either in need, or schools that were badly affected by Cyclone Winston earlier this year. The collection has included stationery, reading books and some sports gear. Thank you to the Values Representatives from each class for managing the collection of these items.
