Last week a group of girls from Year 7 and Year 8 represented St Cuthbert’s College at the annual Casio Mathex competition held at the ASB Stadium.
There were over 60 teams competing in both year levels. The two Year 8 teams both finished high up the order, with a score of 65 for the A team and a score of 70 for the B team. No school scored the perfect 100 in this competition.
The Year 7 B team participated enthusiastically and their runner went the extra mile for her team! They finished with 80 points on the board.
The Year 7 A team went into overdrive winning the competition with a perfect score of 100, more than six minutes before the end of their competition. When the clock stopped they were still the only team with 100 on the scorecard – an outstanding achievement.
A big thank you to Mrs Crookenden and Ms Parsons for all the hard work they put into getting these teams up to such a high standard for the competition and well done to all the girls who took part.
