We are well through Term 4 and looking forward to our Year 7 and 8 Athletics Day at Mt Smart Stadium on Monday. Thank you for your understanding on Tuesday as very wet weather forced us to cancel at the last moment. There will be a quick turn around for those girls winning a place at Central Zones as these are being held on 24 November.
Our Year 8 girls have their performances next week and we are looking forward to seeing the results of their hard work and commitment this year. The Year 7 Peter Pan plays were very entertaining and I am looking forward to next week and the Year 8s showing off their skills.
On Wednesday Mrs Jacqui Bailey with some parent help, took the Middle School Kapa Haka group across the road to the Elizabeth Knox Home and the girls performed for residents at the home. They were very well received and were such an engaging group of girls that they were invited to stay for afternoon tea. It is so wonderful for our girls to be able to give back to our local community doing something they love and at the same time providing such joy to others.
Several of our students participated in the Otago Problem Solving Challenge final recently. Congratulations to Jessica Went in Year 7. She was just two points shy of a 3rd placing and walked away with a Distinction, placing 4th in New Zealand. Brena Merz also received a Distinction. Well done Jessica and Brena.
Our Year 7 and 8 Ski Team competed in the Auckland Intermediate Schools Skiing Competition at Snow Planet last week and they had a great day. We rely very heavily on parental support for our ski teams and I would like to thank the parent coaches and managers for all they have done this year, including their work to source great new ski jackets for our girls.
