This is a busy and exciting time of year for both staff and students. Senior examinations finish today and girls can now focus on the end of year events in the coming week. The P&F have excelled themselves yet again and the hall has been splendidly decorated for tonight’s Leavers’ Dinner.
The Boarders are looking forward to their Christmas dinner on Monday night and to listening to speeches from Head of Boarding candidates for 2017. Our finalists for College Head Girl for 2017 will be delivering their speeches next Wednesday morning then the senior students and staff will vote.
We hope as many of you as possible will join us for the annual Carol Service to be held in Clouston Hall at 7.00pm on Wednesday evening.
On Thursday it is time for our personal College farewell to the Year 13 girls at our Leavers’ Service followed by the girls ringing the Bews Bell for the last time and burying their cohort’s time capsule. Then, Friday, of course is Prize Giving, which is followed by the Graduation Ball later that night. At this event our Year 13 students are welcomed into the St Cuthbert’s Old Girls’ Association. This year’s ball committee has been superbly lead by the Old Girls’ President Mrs Fiona Geary. This is such a special evening for our leavers and their families and we are grateful for the tireless work of our Old Girls every year to enable this to occur.
Year 13 2016, are a group of wonderful young woman. They have been united as a year group, achieved their personal best and given much to the College community. We wish them well for the future and know they will make their mark on the world.
To all the Senior School girls and their families – have a safe and happy Christmas holiday. We will look forward to welcoming you back in 2017.
