170 science nerds in a volleyball tournament went surprisingly well. In January 2017 I was lucky enough to attend the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum, a gathering of the country’s top science geeks at Auckland’s University Hall for two weeks. The programme was jam packed full of amazing lectures, visits to very cool labs and companies, and of course a whole lot of fun, an ultimate volleyball tournament!
The programme gave us a taste for university life and life in a hall, while also exposing us to a diverse range of applications of science and technology in the modern workplace. The forum is great for everyone interested in science and technology and its especially good if you aren’t sure what career in science you want to do. It was an amazing experience I’ll never forget and highly recommend to anyone considering a career in science and technology.
