The GirlsInov8 intiative was established at St Cuthberts College in 2014. It offers a variety of experiences to the girls within the College throughout the year which focus on Technology and the maker movement.
The vision of our #GirlsInnov8 camp is to empower young women and inspire them to choose IT as their career in the future.
The demand and popular response for a 2017 camp was driven by the success of the #GI8 camps we ran in January 2015 and 2016. This has motivated us to aim for increased attendance, offering places to more that 50 school girls between Y9 and Y13 which will require increased funding.
Please Support Us
To make this vision a reality for young women across New Zealand we’d like to ask for your support.
The camp is a residential program. It is designed to offer these young women hands on experience in IT and technology, to open their minds to what is possible, and to challenge their creativity in the world of technology. One camp evening offers an exciting opportunity to meet and talk with inspirational women who have built a career in Technology. In previous years the girls heard from Julia Raue from Air New Zealand and Emma Woods who is an active member of the ‘Internet Of Things’ group.
What We Can Offer You
