Helen Robertson-Top Grade for top MBA
Self motivation, perseverance and determination were the qualities that helped Associate Principal and Head of the Senior School Helen Robertson achieve her MBA.
The MBA is from Henley Business School in England, which offers one of the world’s top MBA programmes.
Of the 21 who started the programme just over four years ago, by the dissertation stage, Ms Robertson was the only one to have gained the qualification. She says studying part time while working full time and maintaining other commitments was very demanding and she appreciates the support she has received from St Cuthbert’s College, her family and friends.
The MBA programme has given Ms Robertson an opportunity to step back and look at the College from a more “holistic perspective”. “Education is a business and quite often people don’t see it like that,” she says.
Ms Robertson has applied her learning to aspects of the College including the increasing staff capacity in terms of leadership.“It has given me a greater awareness of what influences the college and a new perspective on decision making,” she says.
Ms Robertson, who is the only member of staff to have completed an MBA while working at the College, received an A grade for her dissertation. She travelled to Henley to receive the MBA in May.
