Why St Cuthbert’s College
An outstanding education can make a difference to your daughter. We want to nurture and grow her to become an influential thinker, caring and well-rounded young lady.
How do we do it? Let’s shine a light on what we offer.
While it’s true we offer world class facilities and beautiful grounds, our greatest asset is our staff. A great teacher can inspire joy, ignite imagination and instil a lifelong love of learning. That’s what we’re here to do.
We can’t ask our girls to deliver their personal best without delivering our own.
Delivering a quality education starts with knowing each St Cuthbert’s girl individually and catering for her specific learning needs.
Girls with all abilities are welcomed at St Cuthbert’s College, and we will identify the appropriate support, mentoring and encouragement for them to experience personal excellence.
Learning should be fun, interactive and energising, with young women eager to learn in a globally connected world.
Confidence, resilience and curiosity are the star qualities of a St Cuthbert’s girl.
Spending four weeks at our remote campus Kahunui in Year 10 is a vital stepping stone in achieving this goal.
Sense of Community
Educating your daughter is a partnership between you and us. It is for this reason we see family at the heart of the St Cuthbert’s College world. Our home is your home.
Belonging to our community will be a way of life for parents and students. So, one of our commitments to you is that you will always be part of the St Cuthbert’s family.
The meaning and example of St Cuthbert’s life is encapsulated in the College motto By Love Serve. There has always been a great emphasis on service at the College as our history includes educating girls through two world wars and the Great Depression.
Christian values lie at the heart of our Values projects and Peer Support programme. So much more than a school motto. By Love Serve is alive and demonstrated every day in classrooms and staffrooms at St Cuthbert’s College.
Your daughter will become part of a rich tradition of educating young women to become leaders in their chosen fields and to make valuable contributions to society.
Our 2017 focus is to specifically promote wellbeing, developing identity, fulfilment and what being real means. We’re also broadening the range of references by which our girls measure personal success so that they feel capable and worthy.
In the Words of our Students
My confidence has grown hugely since I first walked through the College gate. The knowledge and skills I have gained at St Cuthbert’s wouldn’t be possible without the help of the passionate, encouraging teachers and the well-resourced learning environment.
Thank you for the knowledge I have gained, the friends I have made and the experiences I have enjoyed through my school life. This education has given me the self-confidence to embrace new opportunities. There is no thanks big enough to account for what a St Cuthbert’s education has provided me with.
As I leave St Cuthbert’s, I realise how invaluable my education has been. It gives me confidence knowing my CV will stand out in the pile, my references will be taken with greater weight and my self belief will identify me as a St Cuthbert’s girl. I will demonstrate ‘By Love Serve’ wherever I go.
St Cuthbert’s is an amazing community that I am so proud to be a part of.
I have learned how to use initiative, how to take responsibility and I have learned a lot about myself.
